The Journey of Memorising Juz Amma (Juz 30)
A step-by-step framework for kids and beginners starting their Quran memorisation journey.
Juz Amma (the 30th part of the Quran) contains short, rhythmic surahs that are ideal for beginners and children to memorise. Starting here helps build confidence, teaches core themes of belief and reflection, and provides verses that can be easily recited in daily prayers.
Begin the memorisation of each surah by listening to a qualified reciter multiple times. This helps internalize the correct rhythm, pronunciation, and stops before you start memorising. The teacher then listens to your reading, corrects any errors, and gives the green light to memorise.
Patience and consistency are key. Memorising a single verse or line daily, with perfect pronunciation and regular revision of previously learned surahs, builds a much stronger foundation than rushing to complete chapters with weak memory.
